Glyn Styler is a New Orleans based singer/songwriter who served as a multi-instrumentalist for numerous bands including NY punk icon Lydia Lunch, L.A.'s Green On Red, and Tav Falco's Panther Burns from Memphis before embarking on his extraordinary solo career as vocalist and composer.

Combining the musical techniques and theatrics of the great "saloon singers" (Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Scott Walker) with the swaggering attitude of his childhood heroes (Lou Reed, Bowie, Iggy Pop) Glyn Styler formulated an indelible vocal style and persona which over time has developed into a totally unique and personal vision.

Together with long-time collaborator Rene Coman, Glyn Styler has fashioned a compelling new catalog of pop/rock songs that curiously couple "old-school" craftsmanship with modern lyrical themes that would make Sinatra spew his Jack Daniels!

Press Clips

Glyn Styler is the half of the Velvet Underground that Sonic Youth threw away...Styler's M.O. is emotional rather than sonic catharsis. His repertoire is lyrical and elegant, built on lush melodies and jazzy guitar chords animated by his protean, perfectly pitched baritone which doesn't so much caress the lyrics as purge them like bile. Beyond his style, beyond his voice and beyond his originality, it is Styler's hyper-emotive delivery that makes him the most engrossing performer in New Orleans.
(Mark Miester - OFFBEAT)

Shock, revulsion, sex, drugs and rock & roll are at the heart of Styler's music and being, but peel away the layers of the Styler schtick and what emerges is a deeply romantic, even altruistic statement of beauty and hope.
(Tom Loughran - TRIBE)

Inhabiting a bleak territory somewhere between nihilistic lounge and emotive, elemental punk, Glyn Styler stands alone - he trips the dark fantastic!
As smooth as he is twisted, his powerful voice instructs and forebodes. Play this for your parents, I dare you...
(NEW CITY)

Beautiful, tormented, and blackly comical...Glyn Styler is a true crooner with a commanding baritone, eloquent phrasing and meticulous diction...however, he sings with such focused passion it seems like he might blow a cartoid artery!
(Parry Gettelman - ORLANDO SENTINEL)

So few singers can vocalize like Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett, but New Orleans' Glyn Styler can really croon! Call it "sleazy listening" but if Styler left his heart in San Francisco, there'd be a trail of blood leading away from the scene.
(BOSTON PHOENIX)

Heed this - our fair warning to you: New Orleanian Glyn Styler is frighteningly for real...
(Cheryl Botchick - CMJ)

Onstage strumming a lonely guitar, belting out "romanticide", Styler's the model of broken-hearted bitchiness...
(Tristram Lozaw - REQUEST)
